Honored to Receive the 29th Young Talent in Life Sciences Award from SBBq

I am incredibly thrilled and deeply humbled to announce that I have been awarded the 29th Young Talent in Life Sciences (Prêmio Jovem Talento em Ciências da Vida) by the Brazilian Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SBBq) for 2026.

This recognition holds a very special place in my heart. As any researcher knows, science is a path built on resilience. This award represents the culmination of many years of intense dedication, countless hours in the lab, and a genuine passion for understanding the intricate mechanisms of life. Reaching this milestone right on the heels of finishing my PhD feels like a beautiful validation of the journey so far!

My research in O-GlcNAcylation has always been driven by a deep curiosity about how these fundamental pathways function. To have my trajectory and the hard work of these past years recognized by such a prestigious scientific society is both an immense honor and a profound motivation.

As I begin this exciting new chapter as a postdoctoral researcher at KUMC, I carry this award not just as a personal milestone, but as a reminder of the incredible support system within the scientific community. It fuels my drive to continue pushing the boundaries of our field, to foster meaningful collaborations, and to contribute impactful discoveries to the scientific world.

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the SBBq committee for this distinction.
